What to expect

Lesson lengths: 1 hour  - any other lengths of time can be discussed and with 2 hour lessons I do suggest a break.

Apps used:

·        Zoom

·        FaceTime

·        Messenger

It is advised that a pc, laptop, iPad or tablet is used. Lessons have been achieved on smart phones, but they are not ideal. The lessons on Zoom can be videoed, upon request,and sent to the learner. Homework can be provided, so topics within the lessons can be practised and Past Papers can also be provided.

All discussions with parents/ carers about progress will be handled outside of lessons through phone calls, emails, FaceTime or Messenger. As too will discussions around work required for the next lesson.

For home-learning: I will follow the individual weekly plans, made by myself following discussions and or initial assessments which will  mimic the appropriate year's work being taught in schools. There will be two ways of delivery:

 --> Stand-alone lessons:  topics will be modelled and then with support the student can tackle questions in the online classroom with me. This will allow them to work through work sheets in their own time, as part of homework sent out by me after the lesson;

--> Alternatively, I will do the same as above with sheets I have sent prior to the lesson.  This is a good option when writing out the questions takes up too much time, allowing more time for working through problems, at the same time providing an instant record to revise from.

For some learners, I provide colourful personal PowerPoints of the work, achieved together in each lesson, as a record and form of revision, pleae see below some examples. All options will be discussed with the parents/carers prior to starting, but any decision can be altered at anytime throughout the course, with 24 hours notice to allow for lesson preparation.

Part or full-time schooling: Prior knowledge of individual school calculation policies is very helpful.
